This is really scary stuff. I actually disagree with you on the health prognosis. I do think, though, that Trump is rapidly sinking into dementia, and it also seems he has heart issues as well. And what's up with the meandering walking and etc etc? I'm sure that JD, despite his love for couches and trashing his wife for being from India, knows what's actually up, and you're absolutely correct to note that he's suddenly saying things based in reality rather than MAGA to begin to ease himself into the Presidency. I expect that pressure is building to talk Trump into abdicating under the 25th - isn't that what kings do? But Trump, who can never ever admit to being anything other than Superman himself, under also the woowoo-ness of his growing dementia, is refusing to go. It's obvious.

What happens? The other really serious crooks: Hegseth, Noem, Vought, Bovino, Homan, Patel, Bondi, Kennedy Jr. ... wow, huh? ... must also know that if others somehow talk Trump into the 25th, then Vance will dump them, too. Vance is a (non)artful liar, but he's not crazy, so the only hope he has for getting support for an installed, ala Ford, presidency is to say (not in those words, of course) that our long nightmare is over.

So all the true MAGA sycophants realize this, that their own continuing positions rely on Trump remaining in power.
