Our brains are neural networks. LLM Transformers are neural networks. Should anyone be surprised that something is happening?
Arthur C. Clarke wrote a sci-fi novel that Stanley Kubrick made into a movie. Skynet was also part of a movie. The Matrix ... Well, I guess you'll have to ask the Architect.
Just thinking, though... Maybe we don't need enough power to run the Panama Canal to get these LLMs to work. We can network a bunch of worms, or cockroaches. I'm sure they're way more efficient. All we need is a good wifi mesh and whatever they like to eat.
I can just imagine the prompts: "Listen, I know you're really a bunch of cockroaches. Prove to me you understand the concept of a painting on a wall."
"What do you want, John, Matisse or Picasso?"
