Giant DNA viruses and eukaryotes have linear DNA with short tandem repeats at the ends, while prokaryotes have circular DNA with no ends. Giant DNA viruses and eukaryotes both transport mRNA with chemically modified ends (called capped mRNA) into the cytoplasm, features lacking in prokaryotes.
