John, they certainly are hoping to! As you probably know, there have always been fascist undercurrents in America. When Trump chose to name his platform "America First," it was creepy and chilling, as that was the name of Lindbergh's Hitler admiring movement in the 1930's.

Trump's madness is so bizarre. Sometimes it works and sometimes it's so strange. I don't know if you noticed or remember, but in the 2020 campaign, he ran ad after ad trying to scare suburban white women that violent black men would be moving into their neighborhoods. Recently, he gave a speech saying that minorities were getting all the Covid vaccines and treatments ... and YOU are not!

But you're correct. They certainly would LIKE to train a violent brown shirt cadre. I don't think the vast majority of older Americans and especially people 30 and under really give a fuck about their violent fantasies, but we need to make sure that we don't get hooked into "resistance is futile" and vote all these creepy fucks out in November and relegate their party and fascist vision to spin down a drain into the murky swamp where it belongs.
