It's true that nationalistic hatred is being exploited all over the world now, whether it's Trump and the white nationalists, hating Muslims and anyone who speaks Spanish, the Xi regime in China imprisoning a million Uighurs, all the horrors across the Middle East and into Iran, Afghanistan, and Pakistan, the vile religious nationalism and also violence against women in India, actual genocide in Myanmar, on and on... And now, of course, Putin's war against the Ukrainian people. The absurdity of his excuse, that he wants to "de-nazify" a country whose President is Jewish and who lost 3 family members to the real Nazis, is beyond disgusting and cynical.

We're in a period of dangerous instability now, IMO driven on by the pressures of almost 8 billion people increasingly affected by a developing climate/economic disaster. And there are always creeps ready to exploit it.

I'm glad that Biden has courage and a level head on his shoulders, but we're going to need a lot more courage and sanity world-wide for a lot of difficult times ahead.
