In France, doctors are paid well, but reasonably, in line with similar professionals, but you have to look at the madness of the whole system: People wanting to be doctors in the US incur so much debt going to medical school that they are then heavily incentivized to charge so much to pay it back.

Doctors don't necessarily rake in the riches, either. The system has become structured in such a way that no doctor can make ends meet just having their own practice. They have to be part of a large clinic, and that clinic has to be part of a network. The big health insurance company then has them by the balls, and the drug companies and hospitals then charge the insurers and individuals prices which have no basis in reality.

The whole system is mad!

The Biden Administration is showing amazing courage in correcting inequities that Obama didn't dare address. I hope to god they try to fix the healthcare system, too.
