Ignacio, this is very very nice. I took an interesting course in the history of programming languages (lol, a piece of history, when Object Oriented, to quote a musical's lyrics, was about as far as she could go.)

But the professor's point he wanted to drive home was that, as levels of abstraction in the structure of programming languages evolved, we were able to bring in greater and greater swathes of users/creators.

You see where I'm going. This is really the first time we've brought in neural networks as ... software abstractions. Fascinating!

Functions make life easier, but they don't have state.

Objects also have state.

I checked out of programming before the Cloud and SaaS, so I can't speak intelligently about the extra tools you need there, but... I know a bit about neural networks.

We'll get to other architectures besides Transformers and LLMs, but these have been a first step in using neural networks as programming language abstractions.
