If you're a student of American History, you may know that we are in what historians call the 3rd Party System (no pun intended.) The 1st two were the Federalists & the Democratic-Republicans. The Ferderalists disappeared. Jefferson's Democratic-Republicans became the Democrats.

The Whigs replaced the Federalists. They also disappeared in the 1850's and were replaced by the Republicans.

You see where I'm going with this. As the rock band Kansas reminded us, "Nothing lasts forever, but the earth and sky."

I hope that decent Conservatives will form a new right of center party and leave this empty ediface, which nominated a fascistic madman twice, and was too scared to resist him over a total of 5 years.

A little courage to do that now, and this thing we call the Republican Party will become a minority rump party which will be incapable of winning a national election, and then mercifully disappear without a pension.
